Check in for central Iowa high school students and parents is scheduled for 5:30-6:30 p.m. with a program beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a networking session.  Engineering student ambassadors, faculty members, college staff, university admissions office staff, and alumni will participate.  College of Engineering Dean Alec Scranton also will be on hand to visit with students and parents.

The Preview Night is designed to showcase the type of hands-on education that students receive in Engineering at Iowa and the exciting developments and projects happening in the college, articulate the value of an Iowa engineering degree by highlighting stories of successful Iowa alums and how their Iowa education helped them get to where they are today, and give students insight on what it means to get a degree from the College of Engineering at Iowa and the positive impact it will have on them.

The event is being held in conjunction with STEM Day, to be held from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. February 19 at the State Capitol.  Participating in the Rotunda event will be FIRST Tech Challenge, Project Lead the Way, and the Diversity and Outreach Group of the college.
