Ultrasound and radiotherapy products developer CIVCO Medical Solutions has tapped Engineering alumnus Stephen White to be president of its multimodality business unit.

White earned a BSE degree in 1987 and an MS degree in 1989, both in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa.

A 27-year medical device industry veteran, White comes to CIVCO after a stint as senior vice president and general manager for Zimmer's orthopedic division. He also previously served as vice president of research and development at Medtronic's spine and biologics business.

In his new role at CIVCO, White will oversee all aspects of CIVCO's multimodality business unit, which designs, manufactures, and distributes specialty devices for use in ultrasound procedures and for ultrasound equipment manufacturers such as GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers, and Toshiba Medical Systems.
