Richard "Rick" Fosse, lecturer in civil and environmental engineering, has been named a 2018 Top Ten Public Works Leader of the Year by the American Public Works Association (APWA). He joins nine other national leaders being recognized with the award.

Fosse has served on the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty since 2015. Previously he was public works director of the City of Iowa City from 1984 until 2014, and environmental engineer at the Iowa Natural Resources Council from 1982 until 1984.  He also has been a mentor for the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center's Bedell Entrepreneurship Learning Laboratory.

APWA’s Top Ten Public Works Leaders are recognized for the career service achievements of public works professionals. This year marks the 58th anniversary of the Top Ten Leaders Awards, which is one of the most coveted and prestigious awards presented by APWA.
