Engineering alumna Anne Ryerson (BSE 2000 electrical engineering) was nationally recognized by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) July 29 at its International Annual Meeting in New Orleans.

Ryerson, an electrical system engineer with the John Deere Global Harvesting Product Development Center, East Moline, IL, is the 2015 recipient of the Sunkist Young Designer Award which annually recognizes an outstanding product design engineer in the early stages of their career.  She was recognized for her outstanding technical knowledge, leadership skills, promotion of engineering to youth and community contributions.  She has been an active member of ASABE both in the local Quad City Section and in the national organization.

Ryerson is a member of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Board and a former member of the Young Alumni Advisory Board at the college.  Earlier this year, she was selected as one of the first to receive the Dean's Award for Early Career Achievement.  She is also active in local outreach programs to promote engineering education and a mentor of a FIRST LEGO League team in the Geneseo schools.
