Three College of Engineering faculty members have been awarded Old Gold Summer Fellowships.

They are Fatima Toor, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering; Corey Markfort, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering and assistant faculty research engineer at IIHR--Hydroscience & Engineering; and Hongtao Ding, assistant professor of mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

The Old Gold Summer Fellowship Program is a developmental program for probationary tenure-track assistant and associate professors with nine-month appointments. The award must be taken during the first two years of tenure-track appointment at the University of Iowa.

The award provides recipients with funding for summer work to carry out the activities described in the proposal, which may center on research activities, creative work, or instructional development. Each summer fellowship is expected to result in at least one project for publication, exhibit, performance, or instructional use.
