UI's Iowa Flood Center Helps Control Water at Local, Regional, National Levels

At the University of Iowa’s Iowa Flood Center, hydrologists help translate cutting-edge research into something easy to understand

and visualize flood emergency information available to the public. Major services include flood inundation mapping for many cities and towns in Iowa and an expanded stream gage network that gives real-time feedback about how high water is in streams. Those who use the services say the information is invaluable.
