David Wilder, professor of biomedical engineering, will be inducted May 4 as a 2015 member of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health.

Induction will occur at 12:00 Noon at the UI College of Public Health Awards Program & Luncheon in the Callaghan Auditorium, College of Public Health Building on the UI campus.

Wilder was nominated by Engineering alumnus Nate Fethke ( BSE 1996, MS 2000 biomedical engineering), UI assistant professor of occupational and environmental health, and Mary Aquilino, associate dean UI College of Public Health.

The Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health was founded in 1924 at Johns Hopkins University within the School of Hygiene and Public Health (now known as the Bloomberg School of Public Health) by two graduate students, Dr. Edgar Erskine Hume and Dr. Claude W. Mitchell. Over 80 years later, Delta Omega has expanded to more than 84 chapters throughout the world and has more than 15,000 members from top echelons of graduate schools and programs of public health, as well as the public health community.
