The University of Iowa College of Engineering is welcoming two new faculty members this academic year.

They are Kristan Worthington, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, and John Mirth, professor of instruction in mechanical and industrial engineering.

Worthington (https://www.engineering.uiowa.edu/faculty-staff/kristan-worthington), who also is a researcher at the UI's Institute for Vision Research, earned an MS degree in 2013 and a PhD degree in 2014 in chemical and biochemical engineering from the University of Iowa.  She received a BS/MS degree in biological engineering in 2010 from Utah State University.

Mirth (https://www.engineering.uiowa.edu/faculty-staff/john-mirth) received his BS degree in 1984 in mechanical engineering from Ohio University, and an MS degree in 1988 and a PhD degree in 1990, both in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
