What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming freshman?
Take advantage of all of the resources available to you. It may feel weird reaching out for help at first, but I promise it is worth it. Whether you are thinking about attending tutoring, SI, or office hours, someone will be there who is more than willing to help you be your best!

What organizations outside the college of engineering do you belong to?
I have participated in Greek Life and Dance Marathon here at Iowa!

How are you an "engineer ... and something more"?
I am an engineer and I love to take dance classes here at Iowa. I grew up dancing for 15 years so making time to still dance is something I really enjoy.

Is there something else you'd like to tell us about yourself?
I am the first member of my family to attend the University of Iowa and I have loved every minute of my journey here!

What is your favorite part about being a student at The University of Iowa?
My favorite thing about being a student at the University of Iowa is how it still feels small even though it is a large campus. Walking around, I always see familiar faces and it makes such a big place feel like home.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
Ruben Beltran del Rio is my favorite professor that I have had. He makes a strong effort to get to know his students on a personal level and always wants everyone to excel in his courses. I have enjoyed getting the opportunity to take many of his classes and hear about his experiences.

What has been your favorite course?
My favorite course thus far has been Ergonomics. As an Industrial Engineer, this course material is very useful and important and I have even gotten to put some of that knowledge to use while working at Collins Aerospace. I also really enjoyed the guest lecturers that spoke to my class in Ergonomics!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time at The University of Iowa?
In my free time I love to find new places to eat and shop downtown with my roommates. I also enjoy hanging out on the Pentacrest between classes when the weather is nice.
