Project description

New real-time(live) 3D ultrasound technology provides us with complete 3D Doppler velocity as well as gray scale images with high temporal and spacial resolution. By selecting a Gaussian control surface at the mitral valve orifice, the flow rate and volume through mitral valve can be calculated independent of Doppler angle. The 3D Doppler flow volumes measured were proven to be accurate by comparing with MRI left ventrcile volume measurements and PVC MRI ascending aorta flow volume measurements.
