The purpose of the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) Student Body is to foster connections among ASB-affiliated students and faculty within and across universities. In doing so, the ASB Student Body provides comprehensive intellectual and professional development among students from a wide range of disciplines that contribute to the field of biomechanics. ASB is a national organization that fosters collaboration with other biomechanists in different disciplines to help develop biomechanics as an applied and basic science.

Our organization takes part in hosting engineering industry speakers, ranging from research-focused to the manufacturing side of biomedical engineering. Additionally, we connect engineering graduate students with undergraduate students within the chapter using informational journal clubs. One of our main projects is to help promote the field of biomechanics to high school students by coordinating biomechanics-focused lab tours during the week following National Biomechanics Day.
