Peer Advisors will not be available for in-person office hours in 3612 SC for the remainder of the spring semester, but are happy to provide assistance virtually. Please email (see below) the peer advisor in your major or the major(s) you are interested in to get your questions answered or to set up a time to connect virtually.

Peer Advisors

The Peer Advisor program is a resource for all undergraduates in the College of Engineering. Peer Advisors are seniors from all of the majors who offer tailored guidance and advice to students throughout their time at the College - as they progress through coursework, seek involvement and leadership opportunities, and search for internship, co-op, and post-graduation opportunities.

The Peer Advisors work closely with the Engineering Student Success Team staff members in order to provide accurate information and advice about majors, course selections, general education courses, elective focus area (EFA) decisions, and policies and procedures at the College. Peer Advisors are also trained to provide feedback on resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, LinkedIn, or using online systems for the internship and job search.

Stop in to visit with a peer advisor in the Student Development Center, 3612 Seamans Center.  No need to set up an appointment, you can just drop in!

Peer Advisor Workshops

In both the spring and fall semester, the Peer Advisors offer Elective Focus Area (EFA) workshops to assist students in preparation for their academic advising appointments with their faculty advisor.  EFA workshops provide guidance to any students interested in learning more about EFA/track options in their major, and includes instructions on how to complete your Plan of Study form. This workshop is particularly helpful for sophomores and juniors.  Bring your questions, the Peer Advisors are ready to answer them.

Peer Advisors also offer a variety of Professional Development workshops throughout the year - be on the lookout for emails about Lunch and Learns, resume writing workshops, preparing for the Career Fair, and more.
