A University of Iowa emeritus faculty member has been recognized as one of the top scholars in multiple engineering fields, according to a report by ScholarGPS.

Sudhakar M. Reddy, an emeritus professor of electrical and computer engineering who joined the College of Engineering in 1966, was named a Highly Ranked Scholar in two categories. Reddy was ranked the No. 10 scholar in computer-aided design and the No. 15 scholar in integrated circuits.

Reddy has specialized in very-large-scale integration circuit design and test, coding theory, digital systems reliability, and computer communications over his career. The College of Engineering named Reddy to its Distinguished Alumni Academy in 2023.

The new ranking system celebrates scholar for their exceptional performance in various fields, disciplines, and specialties. Publication record, the impact of work, and the quality of scholarly contributions are considered.

ScholarGPS noted Reddy’s record placed him in the top 0.05% of all scholars worldwide.
