Homecoming at the University of Iowa is going virtual this year, and the beloved tradition of the Corn Monument is following suit.  

This fall, the College of Engineering, the UI chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Campus Activities Board invites you to take part in the first-ever My Corn Monument Design Contest—a free, online competition celebrating one of our favorite Homecoming customs. You don’t have to be engineer, just show us your Hawkeye pride by creating a corn monument in the medium of your choosing! Winners will receive a Hawkeye Prize Pack. University of Iowa students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends are invited to participate. 

Design will be accepted until 5 p.m., Sunday, October 11. Our panel of judges will select a Grand Prize Winner and 10 finalists to compete for the People’s Choice Award. Come back to vote for the finalists for the People’s Choice Award between Friday, October 23 and Sunday, November 1. The winners will be announced Monday, November 9.
