"Our group looks at how soils and the minerals present in soils can clean up water. We are fascinated by the tiny iron-containing minerals that exist almost everywhere and how they interact with chemicals that pollute our water. Our work ranges from looking at lead in drinking water to nitrate and dry-cleaning fluids in groundwater.”

“Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) are pollutants in the water and affect all schools, especially lower-income, minority-predominant ones. I hope to find a way to make it cheaper for public schools to get rid of PCBs.”
