Introduction to RADAR Systems by Merrill I. Skolnik, published by McGraw Hill company. This is one of the classic radar texts. This book is in its third edition, but older editions are useful too. In fact, the author recommends older editions for detailed coverage of some topics such as FM-CW radars.

Radar Systems Analysis and Design Using MATLAB by Bassem R. Mahafza, published by Chapman & Hall/CRC. This text contains 1,300 equations, 300 illustrations and 200 examples that are complemented with MATLAB programs that are available for download.

Radar Principles for the Non-Specialist, by J.C. Toomay, published by Van Nostrand Reinhold. The author, Major General John C. Toomay is a systems engineering consultant for government and industry says: “This book is about radar. It will teach you the essentials of radar, the underlying principles”

How To Speak Radar by Arnold E. Acker, published by SciTech Publishing Company. From the publisher: “This CD-ROM product is designed to give the user a basic understanding of the fundamentals and operation of the many applications of radar. It is intentionally limited in its mathematical explanations so as to be easily understood by non-engineers, including personnel who work in non-technical jobs who desire to understand the vocabulary of the radar industry.”
