CEE Research Experience for Undergraduates Program

Research provides a unique and effective educational experience for undergraduate students.  The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is committed to student participation in all kinds of research - whether disciplinary, interdisciplinary, or educational in focus - encompassing efforts by individual investigators, groups, centers, and others.  This program seeks to attract a diversified pool of talented students in careers in engineering and to help ensure that they receive the best education possible.  This program is modeled after the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates, and is one semester in length.  Students may work up to 15 hours per week during their semester as a CEE REU fellow.

Completed hardcopy applications must be delivered to Jennifer Rumping in 4105 Seamans Center.  Applications are accepted throughout the semester.

CEE Undergraduate Research Assistants are paid per hour.  Upon receiving the application, the Department Chair will consult with the CEE faculty to appoint REU fellows.  Applicants will have an interview with the faculty advisor.
